Demand continues to grow for Agriculture Real Estate!

It’s an exciting time right now in the real estate market especially in the agriculture market. The increase in the price of cattle and commodities over the recent years has lead to a large demand for ag land. The calender says its the middle of winter it feels like the middle of summer. While the hottest sector has been irrigated farm ground, dryland farm ground and pasture have seen a lot of interest as well. Part of the demand for grassland seems to be coming from two different areas. The first is from the drought that has hit Texas and Oklahoma and the second is from cattle producers in the corn belt that have seen pastures they lease or own being broken into farm ground. These operators have started to look for a place to move their herds. With these trends seeming to grow stronger at the beginning of the year, it will be interesting to see what the rest of the year brings!
