Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm
Introduction: Located in southwestern Wyoming, along Highway 191, just four miles north of Farson sits the Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm. This productive farm is comprised of 404 deeded acres with 3 center pivots irrigating 220.9 acres +/-. Improvements on the property include an updated 1,308 sq. ft home and numerous functional outbuildings. Featuring outstanding views of the Wind River Mountain Range to the northeast, the farm sits just above the Big Sandy River and is a haven for a variety of wildlife including mule deer and antelope.
Improvements: Improvements on the Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm include a 1950’s 3 bed 1½ bath home and numerous outbuildings. The home has had a number of updates and enjoys a nice family room and dining area. Land: The Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm is irrigated by three older Valley pivots with water provided via the Eden Valley Irrigation District. Recreation: Historically the Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm has qualified for landowner deer and antelope tags. Just north of the farm is the Big Sandy Reservoir, offering boating and fishing opportunities for brown trout, cutthroat trout, catfish and ling. The surrounding area is primarily BLM ground offering thousands of acres for ATVing, hunting and hiking. Additional recreational opportunities can be found in Bridger-Teton & Shoshone National Forests in the Wind River and Wyoming mountain ranges northwest and northeast of the property.
Location: The Berg’s Haystack Butte Farm is easily accessed with frontage along HWY 191 and County Road 28 (Haystack Buttes Rd). It sits just 4 miles north of the small community of Farson and 40 miles north of Rock Springs (population 23,000). The scenic mountain towns of Jackson (2 hours) and Pinedale (50 miles) are north of the farm and offer great shopping, dining and access to some of the most scenic spots in Wyoming.
